Visited Thunchan Memorial Research Center

Visited Thunchan memorial research center today (Nov 11,2018) with my brother. It is located at Thunchan Parambu, Tirur. The facilty displayed many equipment used in old times in Kerala like Musical instruments of that time. Ancient scripts of malayalam "Vattezhuth" and "Kolezhuth" really amazed me. It also had Pictures and Paintings of many great writers of Malayalam literature. A description about their contribution and important works was also attached. It was a wonderful experience. Bought back memories of my childhood and malayalam classes during the school days.  Proud to be a native of the land of Thunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthachan. NB- Writing this in English just because i would like to stick with English in this blog.

My initial impressions of the Poco F1

I am a huge Mi fan. But an even bigger fan of stock Android. So was waiting for the Mi A2 for an year. But when the Mi A2 didn't have a headphone jack I decided to bury that thought. Then I was thinking of One Plus 6. But the Honor play came in. I was in total confusion. My friend Tony Joseph who is also an Mi moderator suggested me to wait for the Poco F1 launch. Thanks bro, the wait was worth it. Face unlock-The Ir face unlock is simply amazing. My friend who is a one plus 6 user was really impressed with it. Speed is also on par with One Plus 6. The phone breezes through day to day tasks and even some Moderate games I threw at it like NFS most wanted and marvel future fight at high setting. There was no heating even after half an hour of intense gaming. Ram management is one area where miui has been traditionally weak. But here it seems to very optimised. Ram management is good. Miui 9 for poco is well optimised and smooth   The new poco launcher is ...

Xiaomi please use Stock Android

It's about time to abandon MIUI Slow and laggy When i first used MIUI v3 in my nexus s back in 2012 it was nothing short of a revolution. MIUI was really better than stock android. MIUI started as a fork of cm but it changed the way android looked. It transformed android into something elegant and beautiful. MIUI V4 and V5 was again extra ordinary.  I think it was from MIUI 6 onwards that miui started lagging. Nowadays miui is a really laggy operating system when compared to stock android. I compared my MI4I with snapdragon 615 chipset to another device with the same specification moto g turbo...and moto g turbo was considerably faster. Even an old snapdragon 410 moto g3 was faster than mi4i..The point is stock android is much faster than miui on similiar hardware. Even my snapdragon 650 kenzo (Redmi note3) is slower than an old Snapdragon 617 Moto g4 plus. Lack of android updates Xiaomi has been a  failure at giving timely android updates. My mi4i and Red...

Why we should stop blind fanboyism

A lot of people are buying smartphones out of blind fanboyism. People often buy smartphones without looking at what kind of specifications these devices have. For example what kind of SoCs (System on a Chip) these phones use. So they buy a device with a bad processor and after one or 2 months these devices started hanging and they blame Android. I had a friend who was a blind Nokia fan. He purchased Nokia N8 at the heights of Android popularity in 2012 and later found out painfully that Symbian OS is dying. Another friend of mine bought a Windows phone just so that he could own a Nokia device. When we using popular apps like Firefox or Chrome he was left out. When we were playing multiplayer games like Clash of Clans and Mini militia he was again left out. Then after Collapse of Nokia and HMD Global buying Nokia and deciding to release Android phones the guy decided to buy Android phones made buy Nokia. So he went for Nokia 5 with a Snapdragon 430 processor. It was overpriced...
